Vinyl Signs and Graphics
Disk Specifications

Vector vs. Bitmap
Graphics programs create two kinds of files – vector files and bitmap files. Vector files, which are created by programs such as Illustrator, Corel Draw, Freehand, and others, define artwork using a series of lines, fills, and strokes. Bitmap files, which are created by programs such as PhotoShop, Corel Photo-Paint and other Paint programs, define artwork using a series of tiny colored squares (bits or pixels).

The nature of the vinyl sign making process requires that we use vector files. If you provide us with a bitmap file, it must be converted to a vector format. The Sign Place provides this service, however, it does take time and therefore a one-time conversion fee is charged. If you want to avoid this fee simply bring us a vector file.

Standard Disk Formats Accepted
